This bill, also known as the Graham-Cassidy bill, holds the potential to eliminate the medical insurance coverage of a vast amount of Americans. If it passes, medical treatment for people suffering from chronic diseases and low incomes may become prohibitively costly. Iverheal 6 These are the occasions that require the greatest care from a medical professional (Asthma).

What Does This Mean for people suffering from allergies and asthma?

Should the Affordable Care Act go away, it will be without insurance plans for people suffering from chronic illness. Millions of people may be forced to pay higher prices for lesser medical treatment. Patients suffering from asthma or hypersensitivities such as asthma, will find it difficult to pay for treatment and life-saving medications due to this.

The bill also would eliminate the Medicaid expansion, and give states greater authority in the area of medical oversight. States could permit insurers to cost patients more, or even cancel them if they do not have assurances for chronic illnesses like asthma or allergic reactions. People who are elderly or have lower incomes are in danger of being denied coverage coverage or being unable to cover the costs of being included.

A thorough review of the proposed regulation is expected to take between two and three weeks According to Congressional Budget Office. The vote is over the time limit for the regulation. This means that the number of people who are denied coverage and the amount to be spent are currently in doubt.

What’s being done regarding it?

The National Health Council relies on the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (NHC). We join with the NHC and the patient advocacy community in opposing this present attempt to end the Affordable Care Act. We’re soliciting Congress to put Patients First by keeping them at the forefront of the healthcare debate. We need your assistance in spreading this message to Congress.
